The trustees, team, volunteers, supporters and sponsored girls of the CGEF thank the Commonwealth Countries League (CCL), in particular the Fair planning team, and our esteemed host, H.E. Perla Perdomo and her team at the Belize High Commission for their exemplary work in staging this year’s fair on Saturday 10th November.
The fair, which is held annually at Kensington Town Hall on the second Saturday of November, is a unique occasion with a rich history. Over the years with the help of the High Commissions, it has been an integral element of our fundraising activities that enables us to continue sponsoring girls.
There was another huge turnout at the fair and once again, we were delighted to see a number of High Commissioners and their spouses, as well as members of the public.
Special thanks goes to the First Lady of Belize who opened the fair, Dr Nadeem Goheer, Assistant Secretary General of the Commonwealth, who gave a brief address at the opening, and Sir Peter Heap, Chair of the CCL Board of Trustees. All profits from the fair go to the CGEF for the secondary education of girls in Commonwealth countries. Click the video below to watch highlights from the Commonwealth Fair 2018.
