On average over the past five years, we have sponsored 32 girls per year in Kenya.
The following story is from one of our beneficiaries, highlighting her ambition and the obstacles that prevented her from completing secondary school before she was sponsored.
To protect her identity, the name of the girl has been changed.
Mary’s Story
“My future plan is to become a Dermatologist after university. I like getting involved in school trips which educate me and allows me to interact with people who can advise me on my chosen career”
Mary is a hardworking girl who shines in both school and extra-curricular activities. She comes from a humble background where she lives with her mother and one sister. Affording even the most basic of necessities is a challenge for them. Mary participates in class and often supports her classmates. With the CGEF’s help, Mary was not sent away from school for not paying her fees and has maintained a good average throughout the year.
“Thank you for the support, it is because of you that I am still in school! I am now the chairlady of the Environmental Club which helps me to interact with many of my fellow students”
